My ENTIRE life my mom and dad talked about the steak sandwiches from Del Rancho’s in Midwest City Oklahoma.  Described as both “the best fried steak sandwich in the entire world” and having “steak so big it hangs off the bun” Del Rancho is the Gold Standard of fried steak sandwiches in my family.

In 2017 I was passing through OKC on a road trip with my brother when I decided we should try and find it to see for ourselves.  The place is still there, and the steaks were still that big…and my mother was right, maybe the best fried steak sammich I’ve ever had…

Ratings Breakdown:
Steak Sandwich: 5 Stars 
Everything was great, from the steak to the bun.  No complaints.  Not even a quibble.
Fries: 4 Stars
The fries were those extra crispy battered fries that are so popular right now which I don’t care for but were good anyway.  I wish more restaurants would go back to just regular fries.
Restaurant: 4 Stars
The people were friendly, and the place was clean if a bit aged.  It had a nice friendly atmosphere and you could tell the people who were eating there were locals.  Seating was a bit limited to old-school wood booths and was a bit uncomfortable.
TOTAL: 4.25 Stars…very commendable!
