Thick Cut Pork Chops Smothered in Onions and Mushrooms

I’m no Gordon Ramsay but I like his shows and his cooking techniques. So I borrowed a little from Hell’s Kitchen techniques on this one, but I arranged the ingredients here on my own. It’s super simple and probably not quite up to Ramsay’s standards. However, my daughter in law and I both thought it was pretty good.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pork chops an inch thick
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 8oz Mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 table spoon of butter
  • 1/3 cup of white wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 TBSP Olive oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. Season your pork with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil over medium high heat in an oven proof skillet. Preheat your oven to 400
  3. Sear Pork chops about 3 minutes per side. Take the chops out and place them aside.
  4. In the same skillet cook onions, mushrooms, and garlic with butter for 2 minutes then add wine. Cook until onions are just before translucent (about 3 minutes).
  5. Replace pork chops in pan and cover in the onions and mushrooms, place in Oven.
  6. Cook 15 minutes or until pork reaches right temperature (160 degrees)

NOTES: Great Recipe.
