So this is super simple even though it seems complex. It tasted really good and was done in about 30 minutes. It’s not a TRUE Alabama white barbecue sauce, but it’s got the same basic ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 4 pounds pork baby back ribs
- Cooking Oil
SAUCE:
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients.
- Cut ribs into serving-size pieces; rub with seasoning mixture.
- Then using some peanut oil or your favorite frying oil…fry them lightly. Just enough to get some crust on the outside. You’re not looking for total doneness here.
- Place Ribs on a baking sheet lined with tin foil (and a cooling rack if you have one).
Make your sauce. Stirring it up thoroughly. Using a basting brush rub the ribs with sauce. - Place ribs into the oven for 10 minutes basting with sauce again half way through cooking.
NOTES: This CAN be done in a slow cooker over about 4-5 hours…I just didn’t have the time.
