Great recipe…kids and wife loved it. Stupid easy to make.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 package Hawaiian dinner rolls (12 count) *SEE NOTE 1
- 1.5 cup pizza sauce
- 4 cups pizza cheese *SEE NOTE 2
- 48 slices pepperoni *SEE NOTE 3
- 0.5 cup butter (melted)
- 2 tbsp. parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Cut the tops off of the Hawaiian rolls making mini buns.
- Place the bottoms of the rolls onto a baking dish.
- Spoon the pizza sauce over the bottom of the roll and spread out.
- Place half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Place 48 slices of pepperoni on the the rolls, about 2 on top of each mini sandwich.*SEE NOTE 3
- Top with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Place the top of the sandwiches on top.
- In a small bowl combine the melted butter, parmesan cheese, garlic salt and Italian seasoning.
- Brush over the rolls with a pastry brush
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until heated and all the cheese is melted.
NOTES: 1) Get the sweet rolls, not the savory rolls…there is a difference. I used King’s Hawaiian Sweet rolls in a 24 pack for my 4 person family. 2) Listen, GOOD pizza cheese is a mix of mozzarella and provolone and possibly romano or parmesan if you like. Don’t skimp. Buy good cheese 3) That seems like alot more pepperoni than it is. It’s basically just a package of pepperoni. You could also use other items like precooked sausage, or caramelized onions like I did. Sky’s the limit here.
